yer mother should know
(relaunch!) my mother is a terrific audience. she enjoys smart humor, but laughs at over the top. though not a fan of wacky comedic movies, i feel that some of the most witty jokes are over her head. yeah, that makes no sense. sometimes she doesn't either. she likes music, but hasn't actively sought new music in years. i try my best to raise my mother right. i point her to the good pop culture and instill why the bad is bad. and sometimes i ask her to rate some of it.first chronicled on lunchboxing.com the feature your mother should know dispensed such motherly wisdom as "(beck) sounds too much like bob dylan, too slow for me" and "i would even go to (badly drawn boy's) concert... but only if I could sit."
how do you not want to pat her on the head and say, "thanks for humoring me."
since such words of motherly wisdom are hard to come by, i figure it's time to post the mother van rappin reviews. from music to movies to television and books, mother van rappin will share her thoughts. no matter how scattered they my be. stay tuned. and suggestions are welcome.
